![]() The first building was erected in 1849. Subsequently, the house was repeatedly reconstructed and passed from owner to owner. In the beginning of the 20th century it became a possession of Sanator Dmitry Neidgart. The name of an outstanding Russian statesman and reformer P. Stolypin is connected to the house because Neidgart’s sister Olga was Stolypin’s wife. Gustav Mannergeim and Paul Demidov lived in the mansion in different years. The house was reconstructed in 1911 for the last time. The civil engineer I. Burgazliev made a project of reconstruction. The well-known artist and architect I. Fomin supervised the construction and designed the mansion interiors. He created a remarkable composition of the main entrance with dynamic space building, which is well preserved After the Revolution in 1917 the mansion was turned into communal apartments. As a result refined interiors were badly damaged. In 1922 beautiful halls have come to life again after a long restoration work. The mansion draws attention of citizens of St. Petersburg, travel companies tourists. The best actors of St. Petersburg theatres, musicians, various bands act in halls of the mansion. |
